Just a question

 Dear Believer, 

As you waste your life away practicing your religion, has this question ever occurred to you? 

Have you ever wondered why, when you are faithfully carrying out all the wholly pointless tasks that your faith demands of you, that nothing happens to those who DO NOT practice your religion? 

Just look around you. Wherever you happen to be while reading this, you will notice that you are surrounded by people who are not doing what you are doing. 

Are they coming out in boils? Is your (non-existent) 'God' raining bolts of lightening down on them? No! In fact, nothing is happening to them now. Nothing happened to them in the past. And NOTHING will happen to them in the future. 

Oh hang on, I hear you say, but what about the AFTERLIFE? 

WHAT 'afterlife'? 

Apart from the rubbish that your religious leaders tell you, have you ever seen any independently verifiable evidence that there IS an 'afterlife'? Oh, and we are not talking about 'near death experiences' because science has already explained them away. 

No, I mean has anyone ever come from the 'afterlife' to say to you, 'Gosh, its good up here'? Or perhaps 'I wish I'd have listened to my religion. Hell? Doesn't even come close to describing what its like in here mate. You mind you behave yourself if you don't what to end up where I am'. 

No, they have not and they will not, because until SCIENCE proves otherwise, we can be pretty much 100% certain there is no 'afterlife'. 

So, you are doing all this stuff to get to this 'afterlife' and yet the vast majority of people around you are not. And it doesn't seem to bother them. 

So, why do YOU bother?

Britain is a SECULAR state! Don't make me laugh!

So yesterday, being Easter Sunday, I took part in my annual Easter tradition of spending 15 minutes in the car park of my local big shopping centre.  It always gives me a good laugh to watch the streams of cars and people arrive at the front door of the two major supermarkets on the estate and then scratch their heads in amazement when they find them closed.  "Sorry, its closed" I said to one Muslim woman. "Its Easter Sunday and in case you have forgotten, Britain is still a Christian country". I'm not sure her English was good enough understand me, but the very old English guy certainly did.  "Of course its closed mate" I said to him.
